Pride, curse and lie!

B. A. Manakala

Because of the sinful things they say, because of the evil that is on their lips, let them be captured by their pride, their curses, and their lies. Ps 59:12 (nlt)

One day my spectacles went missing and I kept searching for them. Finally I found them when my family members told me to look in the mirror. They were on my head!

David says here, that you may be captured by the pride, curse and lie inside you (Ps. 59:12). We usually think we are captured only by our enemies. And we do not realise that often our enemy is within ourselves. It is human nature that we do not often see what is inside of us, while others may notice them easily. God’s word is a powerful mirror that searches for everything inside you (Jam. 1:23-24), even those that you cannot see yourself.

Would you examine whether pride, curse or lie within yourself is your own enemy?

Looking in a mirror shows you a lot more than what you can see yourself otherwise.

Prayer: Lord, reveal to me the pride, curse and lie within myself that I may repent of them daily, and never have them as my enemies. Amen
