Waiting for long?
B. A. Manakala
You are my strength; I wait for you to rescue me, for you, O God, are my fortress. Ps 59:9
Many years ago we went to a remote village in North India. As per villagers advice we waited for a bus at 10 a.m., to return to the town. After a long wait until 2 p.m., we went in the opposite direction by another bus, as the bus we waited for never came!
David is waiting for God to rescue him, as he knew it is worth the wait (Ps 59:9). Waiting is usually a difficult thing. Generally we stop waiting after a certain period of time. How much we can wait depends on how patient we are; and how patient we are depends on how much love we have (1 Cor 13:4). If you have love, waiting is easy. Didn't Jacob wait 14 years to marry Rachel? (Gen 29)
Who are you eagerly waiting for in your life? Are you sure it is worth the wait?
However long you wait for the Lord, it is worth the wait!
Prayer: Lord, give me enough love and patience that I may wait for you as long as it is required. Amen
Amen
