Complaint
B. A. Manakala
O God, listen to my complaint. Protect my life from my enemies’ threats (Ps 64:1 nlt)
The husband complained during the meal 'the curry is too salty'. Wife responded 'have you ever told my curry is tasty?' Do you think either of them will take the complaint well?
'Can't you see that my enemies are threatening me?' is David's complaint against God (Ps 64:1). Complaints are generally not well-taken by anyone, especially when it is accusive.
God can take even our complaints well, as He knows that we are human beings. We may see even Jesus' question to His Father 'my God, my God why have you forsaken me?' as complaining in nature. However, it is best if we can let Him know our problems without complaining.
Have you ever complained against God in an accusive manner?
God is not tired of your complaints, though you may be tired by complaining!
Prayer: Lord, help me to let you know my problems rather than complaining. Amen
Amen
