Our offering

B. A. Manakala

Now I come to your Temple with burnt offerings to fulfill the vows I made to you (Ps 66:13 nlt)

On one of my birthdays my young son came to me saying "pappa, I have a special gift for you". He handed over to me a folded torn piece of paper. Today, I don't know where his gift is. But I can't forget the message he wrote in it: "Pappa, I love you so much".

Maybe some of us have offered to God many things. It is important to fulfil the vows made to the Lord (Ps. 66:13); but it is even more important that it is done with love. The attitude is more important than the quality and quantity of the offering. God loves only a cheerful giver (2 Cor. 9:7). Think of our offering to God and reflect on our attitude.

What message do we pass on to God in our offerings?

Offer to God the best; and do not offer grudgingly!

Prayer: Lord, always help me to offer with love. Amen
