Sharpen your tongue

B. A. Manakala
They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their bitter words like arrows (Ps 64:3 nlt).

Our younger daughter is just one year old and began to speak one or two words which are also not clear. But she is improving daily and over a period she will speak like any of us.

We are sharpening our tongue daily whether we are intentional about it or not. Do not sharpen your tongue with bitter words (Ps 64:3) and use it to beat others (Job 5:21). Let us train it to bless God and others (Jam 3:9-10). Moses had a stammering tongue (Ex 4:10); but God trained it to bless and save Israelites. When God's Spirit is in us He puts words upon our tongue (2 Sam 23:2).

When the Spirit of God is in us we can only bless with our tongue and not curse!

Prayer: Lord, help me sharpen my tongue to bless others. Amen
