The King vs the kings

B. A. Manakala

The kings of the earth are bringing tribute to your Temple in Jerusalem. (Ps 68:29 nlt)

Geese fly in V-formation during their long flights. Flying is harder for the leader and therefore they take turns in leading. This way they are able to fly longer before they have to take a break.

The kings of the earth worship the King of heaven (Ps. 68:29). Though some of us may have very high positions on earth we are to acknowledge the supreme authority in heaven. All of God’s creations are submissive to the supreme authority. Either, because humans have the freedom to choose or because we forget we often tend to ignore him and go our own way.

The earthly kings may never know you and give any personal attention to you. But the heavenly King is highly interested in you, loves you and wants to live with you!

Are there times when you have to remind yourself to think of the sovereign King?

The kings on earth who are submissive to the supreme King will rule with wisdom and prudence!

Prayer: Lord, give me opportunities to know that you alone are the supreme King. Amen
