Compare God with …?

B. A. Manakala

Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the highest heavens. You have done such wonderful things. Who can compare with you, O God? (Ps 71:19 nlt)

Antlions are called ‘pit-elephants’ in my language. During my childhood I used to compare them with real elephants, though I could not find anything in common between them.

We are created by God and are blessed with a lot of knowledge and wisdom. But it is nothing more than just foolishness for man to consider himself smarter than God. A true revelation about God is necessary to understand who we are truly. After all, we are just created beings and our brain is insufficient to have a perfect understanding of who God is. As long as we do not have a good glimpse of who God is, we will keep trying to compare and compete with God. We can never compare God with anything or anyone (Is 40:18).

Do I ever try to compare God with something or someone?

The more we know who God is, the less we will project ourselves.

Prayer: Lord, let me grow in my understanding about you that I may not try to compare you. Amen
