Don't stay away

O God, don’t stay away. My God, please hurry to help me. (Ps 71:12 nlt)

When my son goes to bed he wants me to be with him. Sometimes he requests that I don't go away even after he goes to sleep. As parents we ensure children's safety though it may seem like we go away.

We cannot see God's presence with us physically. Though God is always with us, at times in life we feel that He stays away from us. Even when we know He is with us, sometimes we ignore it or take it for granted. 

Sometimes God allows us to go through certain challenges, and make us feel left alone in order to achieve His purpose. Even Jesus at one point asked the Father 'my God, why have you abandoned me?' (Matt. 27:46).

How would I respond when God seems away from me?

When God seems away from us that is the best time to call on God more fervently!

Prayer: Lord, teach me to call on you even when you seem to be away from me. Amen

Slippery sliding cliff!

B. A. Manakala Truly, you put them on a slippery path and send them sliding over the cliff to destruction. (Ps 73:18 nlt) I was walking down a snowy slippery mountain with a heavy backpack. Suddenly I slipped and began to slide down. It was a thrilling experience for me. Though I was quite anxious in between, finally I landed in snow safely. Some of our experiences on sliding cliffs on earth may be thrilling for the moment. But not all of them would end in a safe place. When we are on slippery grounds God is faithful to provide us with a way out (1 Cor 10:13); but if we deliberately choose to miss the way out and continue on, the end may be destruction (Ps 73:18)! God would provide a way out only to those who desire for it; for those who want to carry on in their way of wickedness God would only let them move on in their slippery path, and slide over the cliff (Ps 73:18)! Who is truly wise?

B. A. Manakala God looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God. Ps 53:2 I get around many of my problems through Google-search. The more complex the issue is, the harder it is to solve. Sometimes, I end up making a mess, though Google handles about 20 petabytes of data. Man is created as a social being (Gen. 2:18). He needs to share, learn and trust, for his survival. Adam couldn ’ t survive without Eve. We need God as well as other people. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight (Is. 5:21). One who constantly seeks God is truly wise (Ps. 53:2)   Prayer: Lord, teach me to seek you all the days of my life. Amen
