Can God be insulted?

See how these enemies insult you, Lord. A foolish nation has dishonored your name. (Ps 74:18 nlt)

Once a prophet named Balaam rode on a donkey despising the will of God. As an angel blocked their way the donkey misbehaved. The prophet asked the animal 'why did you insult me?' (Num 22)

We may be often insulted by others at different occasions and we may quickly get hurt when we are insulted. Each one’s capacity to handle insults would be different. Leaders will generally face various kinds of insults; but most of them do not run away from their leadership role. Prophet Balaam was insulted even by his donkey.

We may be insulting God in several ways. But I do not think God will be hurt by any of our insults. We are just His creation. He knows well how to handle our insults.

Are we able to handle human insults without insulting God?

If we insult God intentionally it would only hurt us, not God.

Prayer: Lord, let me honour you always and not insult you in any manner. Amen

Greatest Goodness!

B. A. Manakala Surely Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. Ps 23:6 We are very glad to hear that God's goodness follow us all the days of our life. But what are the kind of 'goodnesses' we expect from God? We are often narrow-minded and desire for physical and temporary goodness. Rom 8:28 says " And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God … . " When we love God He converts even the 'bad things' that happen in our lives to goodness. The greatest goodness is that we become like H is Son (Rom 8:29) and live in the house of the Lord forever (Ps. 23:6b). Prayer: Lord, I thank you for your goodness follow me all the days of my life. Help me to see the goodness in everything that happens in my life Amen

What is your good name?

B. A. Manakala I will praise you forever, O God, for what you have done. I will trust in your good name in the presence of your faithful people. Ps 52:9 Some people are very keen on introducing themselves only with their surname, about which they might be very proud. Here is a name that is above all other names! One day at this name every knee will bow (Phil. 2:9-10)! I have been crucified and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me (Gal. 2:20). Let him and his name increase and let me and my name decrease (Jn 3:30). Rejoice that your name is written in heaven (Lk.10:20) and one day you will be given a new name (Rev. 2:17). Earthly names are temporary; gain a heavenly name. Prayer: Lord, help me gain heavenly name than earthly fame. Amen
