Owner and Stewards

B. A. Manakala

The earth is the Lords, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to Him. Ps 24:1

Don't we often say, I own a piece of land, a house, a car? My children, my parents, my siblings, my gifts etc. may be regular phrases in our conversations. Do we realize that we are not the real owners of any of these, but there's just one Owner for everything? Even people belong to Him (Ps. 24:1). Then, what is our role here?

We are just stewards! We are responsible for the growth of whatever is entrusted to us; and one day we will have to give an account (Mtt. 25:14-30). We are called to be faithful stewards of all the gifts given to us (1 Pet 4:10).

How would you reflect on the fact that God is the owner of everything and that you are expected to become a more faithful steward?

Prayer:
Lord, I thank you for finding me worthy to entrust many things. Help me to be a faithful steward till the end. Amen
